A New Way of Engagement Scriptures

Nearly 90% of Americans view the Bible as sacred and inspired, but only 20% say they read it regularly. Everyone seems to want to “change the world,” and yet so many are doing it without a regular connection to God’s word. An intimate knowledge and application of Scripture has always been critical to the church remaining faithful. But how do we do that in modern times? How can we both take advantage of technology, yet not lose the community nature of scripture engagement that has historically rooted Christians? This Q panel explores how Christians can revive the importance of scripture in our digital age?


Phil Chen is a serial entrepreneur. Previously, he was the creator and founder of two companies – Glo and Handstand, an interactive media Bible and a mobile app service, respectively. Phil is passionate about technology, media, and software as a tool for advancing and communicating the Word. Currently, he is heading up business development and strategic planning for content services at HTC. The Chens live between Hong Kong, Taiwan, and San Francisco. Phil is happily married to Tanya Lee.

Glenn Paauw is the Bible Publisher for Biblica (formerly International Bible Society) in North America. His goal is to be a catalyst for more and better Bible reading. He believes that Scripture itself is one of God’s agents for bringing the new creation to reality. Glenn and his wife Jain have two sons, Justin and Colin, and live in Colorado Springs.
