Enter 2014: the year when legalized recreational marijuana becomes a reality in America—at least in Colorado and Washington, anyway. But, for the first time
a majority of Americans
(58%, according to Gallup) favor legalizing the drug. So, it certainly seems likely that more states could follow suit in the coming years. What should we think of this shift in American’s perceptions of drug use? Chris Thurstone, a child psychiatrist and addiction counselor from Denver, discusses the effects and possible consequences of legalized marijuana based on user trends since Colorado’s legalization of medical marijuana.
